Enriched Air Diver
Diving on air has limitations in terms of time that you are allowed to spend at a depth. This is because of the 79% Nitrogen that is in the air. Nitrogen is an inert gas that dissolves into your body, the longer or deeper you dive. We only want to absorb enough Nitrogen that we can release safely by ascending slowly and doing a safety stop. If we reduce the Nitrogen in our breathing gas by adding more oxygen, we will have less Nitrogen to release and hence more allowable time underwater. However this increased percentage of Oxygen brings with it a risk of Oxygen Toxicity often within your diving depth limits. Enriched Air Diver course teaches you to safely use Enriched Air or Nitrox mixes with upto 40% Oxygen. I highly recommend this course because it enables you to use Enriched air that more and more big dive operations are now offering free. Also since there are no mandatory dives to finish this course, it makes sense to learn it here than spending a day in classroom at an international dive destination.
